We are very excited to announce that the Marxists of Fightback and La Riposte Socialiste have taken a big step forward with the purchasing of our own printer. This will allow us greater control and flexibility over the printing of our monthly magazine and our wide selection of booklets. In addition, we will be able to print professional placards with revolutionary slogans and demands, and other promotional and educational materials to intervene with in the movement. Both of these mean that we will be able to reach ever-wider layers of workers and youth with the ideas of revolutionary Marxism.
This significant advance follows shortly after our largest and most successful congress in May with over 110 in attendance; our most well-attended and enthusiastic Montreal Marxist School in February with over 200 in attendance; and the launching of our national student organization, Socialist Fightback Students, uniting over 15 campus clubs across the country and growing. The crisis of capitalism and the inequality, violence, discrimination and environmental destruction it entails is causing increasing layers of workers and youth to look for a revolutionary alternative. Fightback is providing that alternative and has become a pole of attraction for radicalized workers and youth looking to get organized in the struggle for socialism. Moving to in-house printing gives us a greater ability to provide all those looking to fight capitalism with the ideas and methods to do so. It also makes Fightback the only unionized print shop (Unifor CFU) in Toronto outside of the student-union print shops, allowing us to take on commercial projects for allies in the movement.
While celebrating this advance for the forces of Marxism in Canada, we must also set ourselves the serious task of making this large purchase sustainable. This kind of high-quality machine, which can do complex layouts and booklet finishing, is not a small expense, costing over $10,000. Fightback has always relied on the financial support of our supporters, workers and youth in the movement who agree that we have to do away with capitalism, instead of relying on funding from the state or even trade union or student bureaucracies which could jeopardize our political independence. While the class struggle in Canada is not yet as far along as it is in countries like Britain and Greece, a looming housing crisis and other factors demonstrate that we will have our turn. The capitalist class in Canada will attempt to put the burden of the crisis on the shoulders of the workers and youth, as they always have done. This means intensified austerity, privatization, and the use of fear and division. It is of the utmost importance that we are able to sustain and strengthen the revolutionary worker’s press in order to intervene in the struggles that will erupt and inject socialist ideas into the movement so that it can win!

Solidarity subscriptions: with a monthly donation of $5, $10, $20, $50 or more, you will receive an ongoing delivery of Fightback and specials.
While a basic subscription will ensure you get the newspaper on a monthly basis, it barely covers the costs of production/mailing. We are asking those who want to see the strengthening of revolutionary and socialist organization in Canada to seriously consider taking out a “Solidarity subscription”.
Basic subscriptions: you can get 10 issues of Fightback, mail-delivered, for $30 ($20 + postage and handling), or 10 issues emailed to you for $20.
